Unreal Tournament on a Geforce GTS, should I use D3D or OpenGL

Hi
I just upgraded from a Voodoo 5500 to a Visiontek GTS 32. (Not sure if you can call that an upgrade)
Anyway, I was wondering whether Unreal Tournament looks and runs better using OpenGL or D3D.

I run in D3D, I do notice it runs slightly faster on my pc in OpenGL though. The reason I stick with D3D is because when running in OpenGL if someone has the shieldbelt it's not diplayed as such until I'm right on top of them practically. It's no fun running up on an "easy kill" only to discover, much to your horror, they're sporting 100 health / 150 armor...😉 This may be just an effect of the particular driver/hardware I'm running, give it a try for yourself.

OpenGL runs faster however the image is very dark,so I use D3D it seems ok & I`ve yet to find any problems using it.

🙂

I'm using the Loki OpenGL DLL that allowed me to use the S3TC disc and it ROCKS! I went from 60fps to ~80fps between D3D to OpenGL and it looks great. OpenGL used to have visual problems, but this is fine, although I did have to bump the gamma up a bit.

Sorry, but I can't recall the site I found this at. I'll look for it when I get home.
