Here's what it does IT's a LONG read (fortunately the patch will only be 10MB). :)

According to the report do NOT use DX9 with Win98SE or ME and DX8.1 is "best" for U-II. Also multiple monitor support and the ability to "speed-up" the player.

Nice find!

I really hope the performance is increased significantly and from the looks of the readme it looks like they've made some effort to do this.

The decompisition of the dead has increased :D

I am able to dodge more shots @ a 1.5 player speed setting, but am going to try @ 2.0 or whatever it maxes out at (1.99999)?

May have picked up a few frames (gots timedemo by pushing the scroll wheel), but I have ragdoll effects maxed, cause I like to watch em squirm ;)

It's not a Fraudian. :p (perhaps we BOTH should learn to spell . . . F - r -e -u -d . . . )

Nope . . . I'm back in the desert (i guess that's where the "parch" came from) - my mom is coming out of hospital today for her second lengthy stay in 3 months . . . surf ain't that good anyway - the best surf was December and January . . . long-range hawaii plans on hold . . . :(

Anyone else? My gaming computer doesn't have a connect to the 'net so it's a real bother to get the patch . . .

Thanks, JB . . . mom is home now and I get to give 24-hour-a-day care . . . (good thing she sleeps a lot now). :)

I dont even have the auto updater, and from the ina-community forum it appears no-one with UK version does.

I didn't even know there was a UK "version". :Q

I am sure the patch will eventually be available in a DL . . . I can't get it either as my Laptop is the only computer I use to connect to the net. :p

Try the BeyondUnreal Forums' I haven't checked since I can't d/l it with the auto updater . . .

EDIT: I am getting "mixed results" from the threads . . . some are saying DX9.0a is giving the MOST improvement.

its probably EU version, theres usually different EU & N.America versions even if the difference is just adding Swedish language or something, i call it UK version because i bought it here and it's not worth finding out if its a specific UK version or theres just a Eu version, different publishers and sometimes different games have various versions.

Germany usually also have seperate versions to remove gore to aviod it being indexed (not allowed to be advertised to sold to minors) as theyre really strict for games. Generally, i think UK and most EU isnt bothered about gore or swearing much, Germany is specifically bothered about gore but is ok about swearing, and N.America tends to be fine about gore but a bit more fussy about swearing. Australia had a major issue with GTA3 when someone pointed out it was possible to "have" a whore then run her over. The UK Daily Mail "newspaper" (it's self description, not mine) has a problem with computer games, all of them. No idea about East etc.

Thanks for the insight.

I knew games could be different - for example, RtCW had the Nazi symbols removed for sale in Germany - but did not realize the differences between the US and UK versions. :Q

I guess the patch will be available for a d/l later . . . the game is off my HD as I finished it and don't plan to replay it until I upgrade my 8500 to a 9700Pro . . .

Unless it can change the plot line and twist the game to make it into something that I actually enjoyed instead of suffered through shortly before selling it off at a rediculously cheap price, no.

Actually, I liked the plot . . . it's the first game (I know of) that deals with GUILT, SACRIFICE and REDEMPTION - too "deep" for you? :p
