This is what I read. If so, that's utterly pathetic especially for a game that is premiumly priced.
http://www.evilavatar.com/Saturday at last! The big news this week would be that Unreal 2 is only three days away. If you do decide to buy Unreal 2 it will only take you a lousy 10 hours to finish. Now you have to ask yourself... is it worth $49.99 for a 10 hour game? When the first 10 hour game came out (i.e., Max Payne) it was almost a total and complete shocker. How could the developer who had previously trashed other developers for making short games serve up one of the shortest games of all time?
Since then it seems like more and more games are leaning into the 10 hour direction. Console games have traditionally been shorter than PC games and as we do more and more console news it isn't all that unusual for us to be praising a game that some people may finish in 10 hours.
Developers like to claim that as the complexity of a game goes up, that the amount of gameplay you get goes down. What was the excuse for Max Payne? It certainly didn't have complex level designs or character models. What is Legend's excuse for Unreal 2? It doesn't have any multiplayer... so why the short playing time?
Will you buy a 10 hour shooter?
