Hello.

I've seen posts all over the net saying unreal 2 goes slow even on the best systems, yet
I run it fine with x4AA/x16AF at 1024x768. its not exactly special, blackhawk down is a much bigger resource hog and in multiplayer you can get 30-40 fps as opposed to 60-70 in single player.

I guess there should be a point to my rambling, eh? what is the difference between the U2 and UT2k3 engines?
what are they based on?

also, how does it run on your system? is there a difference between using a GF3/4 and a Rad 95/700?

If you've patched the game then the situation changes dramatically as the patch makes a lot of things much faster.

what is the difference between the U2 and UT2k3 engines?
They're both the same engine but Epic have done a better job of implementing it than Legend have.

I don't have any problems running the demo myself, GeForce ti4400, Athlon XP 2400+...I was expecting much lower performance based on my GPU, but I can run it with all settings at max at 1280x1024, with no problems at all, even in firefights.

Ah, I see. I just bought myself a flat 19" crt and it made my life heaven. I was using a crap 17" too, but for $170 I couldn't resist.

Unreal2 looks fine on a Mobile Radeon in my roommates Compaq laptop w/ Athlon XP 1500+ mobile chip

It also ran fine on my Ti4200.

I just installed my oc'ed GFFX 5200 and will see how it looks later tonight/this weekend.

due to getting a job, I might be getting an LCD one in the future.
although...if you go higher than '15 here they cost a crapload.
about $800 for a good '17 one!
