Unraid NAS parts suggestions.

I'm looking to build an Unraid NAS (using Lime Technologies Unraid).

Would like to initially just build a NAS with three Hard Drives (1TB or more per drive).

I'M thinking of using theis cpu /mobo available from Newegg.ca:

Any suggestions or comments on this setup or alternative ?

Also, does anyone have a good link on how to setup the Unraid ?

I want to use it to store and access my music, photos, videos and also would like to know if it is possible to store my desktop backups of my operating system. Right now I use Acronis True Image but I am not sure if this will work on a NAS with Unraid ?

Thanks for the help.

The hardware is actually overkill, but there are not many cheaper solutions. You need GigE and at least 3 Sata ports, and you got it. I run a Sempron 140 and I don't get it over 15% usage (FreeNAS).

Sorry, but I can't comment on the rest 🙁

What you have is fine, but you can get a more powerful and (more importantly) efficient system for about the same money if you go with a G530 and H61 mobo. I believe that Acronis can write backups to any FTP or CIFS share, both of which you can create with Unraid.

Great! I will go that route. As for the H61 board, the specs say that the Lan is only 100 mbits/sec.. Can you recommend another one?

Much appreciated.
