Unplugging the Kinect (Xbone)

I have no interest in the One if the requirement is the Kinect must be connected (and unobstructed).
If your concern is privacy from the camera, I would suggest hooking up the kinect and blocking the camera lens. The voice commands, and the IR blaster (to control your home theater components) is so very useful.

I swore I had no interest in those features... But after a few months, I completely appreciate the abilities.

Is there setup for the IR blaster or something? Just wondering because it doesn't turn my TV off, but that could be related to the fact it's from 2007, I guess.

There is actual set up for it in the options. You can pick your TV or have it search. The only problem is that it simply uses the TV Power type signal rather than TV On. So, if you're TV is already on, the Xbox will shut it off and vice versa.

Then I suppose I'll pass. I'm often going between my PC and Xbox through the input, so having that happen would result in turning the console off, turning the TV back on, then switching to the PC input.
