unpartition

I've been looking online and can't figure this out, is there an easy way I can unpartion a hard drive through windows. I hooked up an old hard drive just to have linux on it but its showing up as four partions. WinXP is not on this drive.

format the entire disk? I dont think windows itself can do it but fdisk might be able to, i'm not sure. I'm sure partition magic can. Or parted in linux can do it.

Ahh the nightmare of removing LILO.

FDISK or Download drive utilities from the manufacturers website from whomever makes the drive.

Im assuming you did try Disk Manager in windows XP first?

I actually had to low level format a drive because of LILO. Its perfectly fine to do a low level format on drives today. It just takes a good night sleep to complete.

actually i figured this out. it was real easy since it wasn't the disk windows was on. i just went to disk management and deleted logical partitions.

If you really get desperate, you could try booting from the Windows CD.

Just format the HD to something you like and then cancel when it asks to install Windows.
