Unpaid internship on resume

General Category: Work experience. Your resume shouldn't be long enough to need two seperate categories for work.

Yeah, that, too. I have one category, "Work experience.", and a separate category, "Activities", which includes volunteer work.

Well yea, but does it go under employment experience, or volunteer work?

Employment experience.

QTF. Volunteer work should be more like "helped save puppy dogs at the shelter;" as long as it's career related, choose employment experience.

the resume I used when I was in school just had the heading 'Internships' instead of work experience, so I wouldnt have to list the crappy part time jobs I worked to pay for school and stuff. This would only work if you had enough information to properly fill up the resume though.

If it pertains to your field/job then most definately include it.

That's for sure... It is real world experience in work... put it under work experience.

Just because you didn't get paid doesn't mean it wasn't a job where you had responsibilities, etc...

Actually, it's none of their business as to whether an internship was unpaid or not.

In all seriousness, putting that you DID do it on there may be more damaging to how much $$$ they may offer you.

Use the space to reflect what you accomplished as an intern as opposed to what you didn't get paid. It looks better.
