This is not a shit (or piss) on Trump thread. Light joking is ok.
The purpose is to talk about what you're excited about and how you feel.
I am completely dissatisfied with Democrats performance this cycle, I am concerned about the Supreme Court.
I am impressed that Trump does not appear to be wavering on healthcare for all at lower cost & lower deductibles it would have been easier for him to not talk about it. Trump also (I'm speculating) appears to not like the Medicare being forced to buy drugs at the highest price he also seems to not like infinitely extending patents, again these are just my observations but I am excited there is a chance we'll see some changes. I'm concerned with his cabinet appointments he appears to want to keep a ban on lobbying again this isn't bad news.
Boarder wall, I don't think it will be helpful in any significant way but like healthcare Republicans own this. There will be a wall, tax payers won't pay for it by reimbursements or other means, bottom line is tax payers won't pay for it. Property owners will not be impacted and its going to control illegal immigration.
I am impressed with some of the Democratic leadership changes. I feel Chuck Schumer(?) is the right guy for right now, I like how the focus will change to supporting more local races too. Good changes.

I hope I see some of our dedicated Dem fans post in here, just keep it classy guys.

Inauguration day has always been special to me. I've watched them all, for as long as I can remember. Today will be no different. We'll be doing the usual celebration, having close friends over, grilling, drinking, etc. Feeling very well and optimistic. It's gonna be a great day! The peaceful transition is a good thing always, vs, the alternative.

But... but.. if you lean liberal, shouldn't you be dismissing him entirely and protesting him in full?

Regardless of his economic policies and how they sound good, he WAS CONVICTED AND GUILTY OF GRABBING A WOMAN BY THE PUSSY! He should be charged with sexual assault and rape! PROTEST AND BURN HIM DOWN!

I am scared. "Hope and Change" was obviously bullshit, but "Grab em by the pussy" is not terribly inspired either.

Curious to see how Trump evolves (or rather, whether he does) or if he sticks to childish rhetoric and keeps thin skin as president. So far it looks like the latter.

Excited to see the impact Trump could have on the SCOTUS and federal judges at all levels. Hopefully RBG and Kennedy retire over the next year or two so we can upgrade those two spots after filling Scalia's spot.

Excited to hopefully see some progress on battling the political correctness cancer threatening the nation.

Thrilled to see the crap left wing media finally taken to task by someone and put in their place. Trump destroying CNN and saying "you are fake news" was awesome and a great start.

Excited to hopefully see someone finally try to tackle illegal immigration. Get control of the border again, then start figuring out what we want/need our immigration policy to look like. There's no point in even having an immigration policy if you have no control over the border and can't get rid of millions who simply stream in regardless of the policies/laws.

Amused to see the lefties continuing to throw childish temper tantrums, stomping their feet and "protesting" not getting their way.

Wary of what the gop will come up with to replace obummercare after it's finally dismantled.

Wary / concerned about foreign relations under a Trump administration. Off the cuff stuff generally doesn't work well with foreign policy.

Wary / concerned about some of the cabinet positions Trump has put in place so far.

I'm sure there's more, but that's what springs to mind.

Odd habit but have fun!
BTW is today a holiday (work) for you or do you just schedule the day off?

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

There goes Obama's backroom deal with Big Pharma. Breaks my heart!

I have hope.

A man is just a man. I await being impressed by positive changes... though I do not expect any.

Stay on topic please. I'd love to respond to Doc but I can't without diverting.

As to how I feel? Mostly sad as so far he's mostly put forth a bunch of policies that don't make mathematical sense and has generally been indecisive and incompetent. He couldn't even figure out how to staff the government right and that's about as easy as it gets in terms of things a president has to do. As I've said before he just seems totally in over his head and he's flailing.

Also if you believe what he's saying about health care I have a bridge to sell you.

I don't believe it but him and the Republicans 100% own it.

It's nuts. Most of them hated him until he miraculously won. Now they're sucking up like a $2 whore....or was that an elected official....

As for the OP, high hopes, low expectations.

I've got to acknowledge and be thankful for the fact that we live in a country that cherishes a peaceful transition of power.

yeah there are protests, and yes there is some divisiveness in our government but as a country we move on.

Trump will have plenty of rope....

I am anxious, angry, and agitated.
I'm also hopeful, since there is a lot of common ground between democraps and republicants. Maybe some of the less polarizing things can get fixed/improved, it will make it easier to swallow the things we don't like.

Infrastructure improvement, bring it on!
Changes to tax code and regulations which may help corporations but also are pro-worker .... OK, lets do it!
Getting Boeing and other companies with big govenment or military contracts to make things in a more cost effective way will in the long run help the companies to be more competitive on the international market & will save US taxpayers some $$$.

So, while I absolutely disdain and loath the very fiber of Trumps being, I still see some good that can come out of things.
