People need to stop publicly reporting this shit.
(not saying you rather other "commercial" web sties)

What the fuck do these web sites think will happen when they post this information in such a public way. Apple is stupid.

Its already been taken down. You can see it, but you can't download it anymore.

I grabbed it not more than 10 minutes ago. There about 5 reviews when I downloaded it and about 60 review as of now.

Well that was stupid. Purposely trying to break Apple's TOS is a good way to get yourself in more trouble than just getting your apps removed.

With that said, I'm surprised the app review process didn't catch this. Obviously looking at it wouldn't work, but an analysis of the APIs used should have turned up something fishy.

According to his website, he's 15 years old.

No, they finally support it. It's something like $20/month extra.

Yep, for no extra data allotment as well, such a rip.

When you compare $20.00/month for tethering to a stand-alone USB 3G modem at $60.00 per month, it is a deal, even with only 2GB of data and an extra $10.00 per GB. This will save me $360.00 to $480.00 per year....which I will take.

If only they would at least let you rollover your gigs like they do with voice minutes. Then I could take advantage of the cheaper plan (currently grandfathered in on my unlimited plan) while knowing that I have a bit of a cushion, as I rarely go over 1GB in a month.

It will be a deal when the phone is jailbroken, which I am sure will be soon - after which it will cost a whole 0$ a month extra to use tethering.

When you compare it to the USB 3G stuff its pretty good. Also when you compare AT&T's costs with tethering to anyone else's tethering costs they run around the same price (as a whole), which I'm pretty sure is what they were aiming for -- while still being able to 'limit' data.

I managed to get in on this. For a buck, no complaints. It should help at airports and stuff.

Only bummer is -- and I haven't tested any work-arounds and stuff -- that it apparently only works with Safari. For work, I use terminal apps and Cyberduck/Transmit/SFTP. I'm not sure how to get those to go over a SOCKS proxy. If I could, that would be amazing, as I'd be able to work anywhere!

For transmit it looks like its right inside properties (Advanced tab, v4.0.6).
