Hi all,
I keep getting this BSOD in XP Pro, my HDD is 60GB 5400 WD drive connected on the ATA100 cable (80wire-40 pin cable, blue part on motherboard, black on the drive), the HDD is set at ATA100 mode. i have two partitions, one for win2k, the other for XP. everytime i get the bsod, ill have to boot up in Win2k, and chkdsk runs automatically and fixes the volume bitmap. another reboot loads XP.
I suspect the problem to be the controller drivers. I have AMD 761 chipset on the mobo as north brigde, and VIA 686b for south bridge,
Giga byte - 7DX mobo. AMD has drivers for win2k and not XP. Could these drivers be creating the problem ? and win2k is complaining about some read only registry problem after these BSODs started happening.
any idea what the problem is ?
Thanks,
LoneShadow
