Unlocking vdimm voltage questions

Ok my geil ram is rated up to 3.1 yet the newest bios version i have for my mobo only goes up to 2.8 and im stuck at 3.67ghz (260x14) because i cant increase the voltage on my ram anymore to get it stable. I heard theres a way to unlock more voltage settings can anyone tell me how? thanks
 
anyone have a link to a tutorial on a vdimm mod? ive heard about a mosfet leg mod or something otherwise i guess ill just spend 40 bucks for that ddr booster... thanks
