Hello,

Can you unlock the multiplier with the jumpers on the mobo? If so, can some explain in detail or supply a link on how to do this?

Thanks!

It's not the mobo, it's the chip these days. If your chip is locked, you have to mod the chip. The board can do up to 150fsb, AFAIK - but you need the Cheepoman bios and a utility to set your CPU to the faster multiplier/fsb.

I think it's called Speedfan or some such. Google it, or you might find some info on the site that has the Cheepoman bios.

The ECS K7S5A PRO does not have any adjustments for Multipliers on jumpers or in bios. With SpeedFan and CPUFSB you will be able to change the FSB but not the multiplier. A couple of days ago there was a page floating around here that showed how to wire mod the socket for different multipliers. No welding, just placing stands of thin wire from one hole in the socket to another in a particular order for each multiplier. This will work with CPU's that are not Locked. I have read in other forums where some people have welded, and modded there boards to adjust multipliers, but that is way to involved, and probably more expensive than a new board with adjustments.
