Unlocking pipes on 7800GT

someone on another forum is stating that you can unlock the 4 pipes on a 7800gt

is this possible?

he reckons that:

"I went into Rivatuner, Processor Details, and edited the bit positions of different bios settings, in particular the one which said 'Pixel Pipe 0', which was the set of 4 disabled pixel pipes. "

Is this possible or is he just playing silly's

no its not possible...i think the GT comes with only 20 physical pipelines.

That link was based off an engineering sample of the 7800GT not a retail one.

There is not way to unlock pipes on the 7800GT.... as of yet.

From what i hear Nvidia laser cut them in the GPU so they wont end up with another 6800 issue where people was able to buy 6800NU and make them pretty much into GT.
