unlocking bios

is it possible to unlock bios on crap manufactured computer motherboards (specifically a crap dell 2400)? if so, how do you do it?

It is probably POSSIBLE, but it's not something you can just go read a guide to do. You have to actually be able to edit the code of the BIOS manually. There are enthusiasts who dedicate significant amounts of time to unlocking retail motherboards, and even they can't always get things to work properly. Even if it's unlocked, the BIOS may simply not contain the code to do what you want, such as changing bus speeds, and I'm not sure it'd be possible for someone to just hack in something like that due to the complexity and interactions between that setting and everything else. Most often what BIOS hacks do is just unhide options that are already there, which OEM boards may not have at all.

Given the limited contact that BIOS hackers have with OEM computers, it's unlikely you'll find anyone who's hacked the particular BIOS for your one model.
