I know I know, Tbred is unlocked by default by my mobo, the Asus A7V266E, seems to not reboot whenever I change the multipliers on a Tbred. Is there anyway I can unlock it??

have you upgraded to the latest drivers? i'm not even sure ur MB (a kt266a chipset?) can handle a t-bred, tho i might be wrong, but check for a BIOS update. if not then not to sure how to help from there. sorry but hope this helps.

It does support Tbreds with the latter bioses but I don't believe the mbrd will auto unlock the cpu.
I unlocked my Tbred anyway & could use all multipliers from 12.5 downwards.:)
I had it running at 12.5x152=1.9GHz :)

If you try to boot on a multiplier not available it won't boot! ,& then it'll reset to default

It does unlock the Tbreds. You have to have a mobo REv 1.07 and above to complete that task. Remember that there are jumpers on the board to select what chip you're using?? One is the Palomino and the other is the tbird/duron?? Just put the jumper to select tbird/duron and you're all good. I've not tried it yet but many have done it over at amdmb.com. :)

Yeah the mbrd was set to that. And it was rev 1.07
I didn't realise that you didn't need to join the L1 bridges ,I never tried without;)

Btw I sold my A7V 266-E about a week ago *sniff*,I would of liked to put it in my 2nd rig but I needed the £'s to buy the new mbrd for this rig:(

The L1 bridges on the CPU(Tbred only) is unlocked by default. Are you sure you tried that??

Yeah, the tbred are connected below the surface. It's weird that you did not get your multipliers to work. What version of the BIOs you had??

I never said the multipliers didn't work:confused:

In fact in my 1st post here I said I could ,but that I thought these mbrds couldn't choose multipliers form a factory unlocked chip, thats why I joined the L1 bridges before fitting the cpu........don't ask I don't know either;)

Holy fork. I just found out that my Xp1600 is unlocked when I move that 8pin block jumper over to Tbird/Duron.
