Unlocking a Tbird...

My friend has a 750 Tbird and an Abit KT7-RAID and wants to know how he can unlock the CPU so he can overclock using the multiplier settings. Can someone please help me out?

Pull the chip out and use a nice sharp pencil and connect all the L1 bridges..but dont connect them to each other.....its easy....do a search so you can see a picture........

The quick and easy fix is using a fine tip pencil, like a mechanical 0.3 or 0.5 lead. If you want a more permanent solution, using a Loctite Rear Window Defogger repair kit is the way to go.

Thanks for the help guys, and especially thanks for the link to that site. This should really help my friend. It might even help me unlock my Duron 650 when it comes, if its locked.

Are the blue core Duron's the unlocked one's or are they the ones that overclock really well? Cause I just got my Duron 650 and it has a blue core.

The Loctite is kind of hard to use, takes alot of time for me anyways. I just bought it at a local auto store, last one too. 🙂

OMG, I just realized that I put this thread in the wrong forum. I did not realize that I put it in Case Cooling... Sorry bout that guys! :Q

The forum is "Cases & Cooling". I think it fits, but if not I'll be the first in line to watch the lynching. 🙂

renob...
dude are you sure the locked durons don't clock as high? i have a 650 @ 900...just picked a nice number cuz it's not used often ... might even go higher!
