My mum and dad has just purchased a Panasonic CF 28 for a bargain price of £250 brand new off a friend of a friend.

They think they have just been lucky with getting a great bargain but with it being brand new (still in box) it's obviously fallen off the back of a lorry.

Anyways they have tried starting it and surprise surprise it needs a code and it appears the manuals are all in German

I've done a few searches in google and I can't find anything about where to find the code in all the manuals or whether it's numerical or has letters.

Can anyone here offer any advice with this please?

Thanks.

haha, "fallen off the back of a lorry"

well, when are you getting the password request ? at windows ? at the bios ?

my guess is that you'll end up having to reformat it or something.

If the OS needs a password, looks like reformatting is the best way to go, especially since the OS may very well be a German install.

Connect it to the internet. Maybe it has a bird dog program installed that will bring the real owner and the cops around to help you.

lol, I used to live in england, but i never realized people typed that way too.

Do you get to see the bios b4 it asks for a code? if so you can boot from a OS disc and reformat the PC.
unless it's a bios lock, - you'd probly have to flash the bios to beat it.
(or call the manufacturer, they would also be able to let you know wheter or not you got it through legitamate circumstances too by running serial #)
