Unlocking a Duron 1300?

Is anyone out there who knows how to unlock a Duron 1300 (morgan core)? I have heard that this can not be done, however I find that hard to believe. I have also heard that it is the same process as unlocking an Athlon XP, but was hoping to get this clarified before I destroy my processor. Any feedback (from experience) would be appreciated.

As far as I am aware it is still a Morgan core and the old pencil trick still applies - I don't think you will get much out of it though?

Goto Overclockers to see what people have been getting out of them.

unlocking a Morgan core Duron is much easier then an XP. Just connect the L1 bridge and lower your multiplier so you can run it at 133FSB.

Funny you should ask--I have the same question!! I just bought a Duron 1.2 and tried the pencil trick. I don't think it's working. The MSI BIOS offers these multipliers: default, 12, 13, 14, and 15. I'm not trying to run the CPU at a higher clock speed. I just want to lower the multiplier so that I can run the system with a 133 FSB. (Maybe 133x9)

I noticed that the L1 bridges have a small "cut" between them. The cuts are not as big as the ones on the XP, but I wonder if they prevent the old method of unlocking from working.

More help for skiznots and me please? 🙂
