Unlocking a Creative DVD player?

I've got a Creative DVD player which won't run any movies outside region 1. No matter what software I use, I'm unable to change the regional settings. Usually you're allowed 5 changes before the region is set, but I don't even get this.

Is there some sort of procedure to allow me to change this?

well check this site out, http://www.firmware.fr.st/, it has a lot of useful information, i dont know what version your dvd drive is so i couldnt check if they have the firmware to unlock your drive but they do have frimware to unlock some creative dvd drives and hopefully yours is one of them.
