Unlocked to quadcore in x2 555 BE, now computer won't stay on

So I got in on the microcenter deal for a Gigabyte MA78LM-S2H and a Phenom II X2 555 BE CPU. It's running on an OCZ 400W stealthstream PSU. I booted up the computer no problem, seemed like everything was running fine, CPU-Z detected the CPU and all running fine. I then restarted the computer and went to BIOS and the Advanced Clock Calibration and set the EC Firmware Selection to Hybrid and ACC to Auto to try unlock the cores. Now when I turn on my computer, everything turns on, fans and all, for maybe 4-5 seconds, and then immediately shuts off. No beeps or anything.

So my question is: What went wrong? Could the unlocking done this by itself? Is it a PSU issue? And if it's a CPU/mobo issue, how do I rectify this other than buying new parts?

So it works again after clearing the CMOS, but is there something I needed to have done to avoid this? Or is it just unstable at quadcore?

unstable at quadcore.. go up to 1.45 volts and see if that makes it stable. otherwise, you can try just turning on one of the other cores and maybe lucking out with a tri core setup.

Make sure you are setting acc to hybrid and all cores to auto or full.

i got the same MB and CPU as you ... minus the PSU and probaly the ram but i have no problems with mine with unlocking...... im thinking your problem is your psu. i have a 600 watt ocz psu. 400 is kinda on the low side. and yes, i know im posting on a thread thats over a month old lol
