Im recently ocing a 2500+ barton. In my nf7-s bios settings, it lets me cycle through the multiplier settings. I assume i got VERY lucky and got an unlocked one? (I JUST purchased this thats y its so unlikely seeming) If you can cylce through the settings and save them, does it mean its unlocked then?

i dunno if you can cycle thorough it means it's unlocked..

why don't you try changing the mult and see if it boots.. then you'll really know! :)

On most boards with multiplier adjustemnt, they will let you cycle the multipliers whether the cpu is locked or not. If you change the multiplier in the bios and the cpu is locked, when you boot it'll just boot at default multiplier.

yea i just got a new 2800+ barton and i just figured out it was unlocked, im pretty happy :)

i can cycle through the mults, then i chose 11 i think and rebooted, the system rebooted fine, on the bios screen in the very beginning (dunno terms) it said i had a AMD Athlon XP ###### instead of 2800+ so im pretty sure its unlocked! also, i went back into the bios, and checked to see if the mult got changed back to default but nope, it was still at 11!

best of luck

The only way to know for sure is if you boot with a different multiplier and Windows says you have a higher clock speed.
