I have the option of 13 and 14 in the bios but it wont boot at anything over 12x.... I'm at 12 x 143 right now stable.

Do I have to do anything to the L10 bridge to access higher multipliers?

What mobo? Not sure what a AK31v3.1 is... anyway, I think in your case 13 might be 12.5 and 14=13. On my Abit KT7a there is no option for 12.5, but there is a "13" that actually sets it at 12.5. Try 13x133 and LMK.

What's your voltage & load temps? Is it Prime stable?

PS What do you get on 3dmark2001SE?

You should make sure to connect the L7 bridges as well, it will give you a nice voltage boost. And as for higher multipliers, there's not much point as your system will be faster if you increase your FSB and decrease your multiplier. I'm running my athlon 1333 at 10.5 x 153mhz (1607mhz effective), and I've benchmarked everything...this is the fastest. If you insist on getting a higher multiplier, try lowering your FSB below spec...I'm telling you though, there's no point...

as SickBeast said, if you want your system to be faster....drop the multiplier and raise the fsb. 12 x 143 gets you 1716 mhz, if you drop to 10 or 10.5 and can go to 166 mhz you will have a much faster system. Of course your ram must be able to take the higher fsb, and depending on your other components you may have a problem with a nic, or HD, just depends. drop the multiplier to 7 or 8 and see how high you can go on the fsb before the ram or cpu craps out..., then set the multiplier as high as it will go with that highest stable fsb.

one 1600xp I have will top out at 1620 mhz, no matter if it's 133 mhz X 12 , or 190 mhz X 8.5 ...1620 is tops for this cpu. But its is a much faster system overall when it runs at 8.5 X 190mhz
