unlocked 6800nu vs 6800GT...

its my deciding factor to upgrade from my geforce3. 6800nu is cheap as heck (164 bucks on newegg - XFX) and the cheapest for a 6800GT is 269 from albatron.

any real difference besides GDDR3, clocked higher, and 256MB?

Unlocking isn't guaranteed. Plus 256 MB of 1 ghz ram is far better than 128 mb of 700 mhz ram.

If you don't need AA/AF the difference will be small.

AGP, it's around a 50/50 chance it will unlock.

PCI-e, it's a 0% chance it will unlock.

If you get the NU, don't expect it to unlock, there is a high chance it wont.

I'd take the 6800GT if you can.

alrighty thanks for your comments guys! 6800GT it is...

The memory bandwidth of DDR1 severly limits a lot of newer games. Even if you can unlock, you'll probably find that every MHz you can squeeze out of your memory would offer a huge improvement. I'd go with the 6800GT if you can afford it.
