Which bridges must be unlocked to underclock a TBird 900 to a 7 or 7.5 multiplier with a 133 FSB using PC133 SDRAM?

All you have to do is connect the L1 bridges together in the following manner:

Before:
o

o

After:

o
|
o

Once you do this, simply set your multiplier lower and boost the FSB to 133

Here dood just go to this link. It's a article made here at anandtech and shows you how to unlock the AMDs.

Unlocking

It shows you exactly what to do, as well as how to do it, and what to use.

Can someone please clue me in? Why do you want to underclock the CPU and raise the FSB to 133? I am assuming that the system will still be at a higher clock speed, but i am not sure on the specific reasons. Will the pci slots, vid card and HD still be ok at these speeds?

Thanks

Running at say 7.5x133 as opposed to 10x1000, although they are the same processor speed (1Ghz), will be more efficient overall for the 7.5x133 setup. At this setting, the interface between the chipset and the cpu and memory is running 33% faster.

When running 133 fsb on the KT133a chipset (and others), the PCI divider is set to 1/4, which nets you a 33Mhz PCI bus.

Bupkus, the L6 bridges need to be altered. your L6's for a 900 will be as follows . | | : : Thats 6X from the bridges with a 3X adder. If you connect the L6s to look like . | | | : , thats down to 4X with a 3X adder = 7X. While you are connecting that single FID2 bridge, I'd also suggest that you connect all your L7s to give you a voltage kick to 1.85 at power on. Test your system at 100 fsb first. Then change just the memory timing to HSTCLK + PCICLK to make sure your memory does the 133 dance. Then, change memory back to just HSTCLK and select the 133 FSB.

id rather run my computer at 10x1000 than 7.5x133 :)
