Link - These are some freaking long codes to enter. I don't think I would attempt this without a keyboard.

As you might have heard a few years ago EA bought the rights to the NFL team and player names. Thus ending all forms of competition in the football genre of games. This year 2K games has released a new football game with out the NFL license. In the game you can create your own teams, and when you do this it gives you a code that if inputed on any other system it will give you that same team on that system. As of right now there are some teams that have been made, but I have a feeling it won't be long before all 32 teams have been made. Here are four of them. If you have any more email me or leave a comment and I will add it to the list. There are some teams with more then one code, just use them both and pick which one you like best.

Dear god those are some long codes.

/Runs to find USB keyboard.

Yreka, your should wait until at least the first day of training camp to give up on the Lions, even if they would be lucky to win 5 games. ;)

Yeah, your right.. I guess I am a bit jaded.. Its the shelling out for Sunday Ticket every year that gets me. It works out to about $100 per win

I have a feeling that it's available that way (instead of simpler code) such that EA or NFL will be harder to sue them..

These aren't "unlock" codes.

When you create any uniform in 2k8, you can get a code so that someone else can use the exact replica of the uniform. The code has to be long, because there are so many variables when you create a uniform, and each variable is there in the code somewhere. All these codes are, is someone taking the time change the uniform so it looks just like an nfl team, and then posting that uniform code.

Ahhh ok. That makes more sense and was actually something that I predicted - APF2K8 players would create their own NFL uniforms within a week.

Wow, these codes sure give some more reason to pick up that thumb board add-on for the x360 controller.

So, how do those of you that own this game like it so far? I loved NFL 2k5 for the xbox.

I was going to eventually make the Chicago Bears uniform, and then populate my team with nothing but All pros from the Bears. I played one guy that did that with Dallas, but either he or his team stunk. These codes will help to speed up that process.

My post from the other thread quoted below.. I also loved 2k5.. In fact I just picked up a copy to play in the PS3 ( XB version does not work on the 360 ) As for 2K8, I am liking it a bit better now than when I wrote this.. I really like seeing all of the old players from the last few decades. It has an old Tecmo Bowl vibe to it ( from the players themselves, not the gameplay).

Visuals are meh.. I was expecting much better. The cutscenes and animations are cool, but the crowd is just terrible. I was just expecting the whole game to look better. Not to get off on a tangent, but how cool would it be to have the people in the crowd get up and walk around ? I mean they show them static in every single game, does no one have to get up to take a pi** or get a beer ? Would it kill them to get in a fight once in awhile ? ;)

Gameplay is ok.. Feels a little slow compared to madden.. Apparently you can turn that up in options, I just have everything default so far.

AI is average-good. ( again, on defaults)

I dont really miss the NFL teams so far.. There are so many ex-stars you still feel like you are playing NFL football. Most of the players seem to be from my era too ( 80's+up). Lots of players I used to actually watch play.

Overall, the game does not seem as polished as 2k5 did when it came out. The whole "crib" and in-game achievements thing is pretty tacked on this time, while in 2k5 it seemed like a major part of the game. In fact, I found the achievement unlockables, but I never saw a "crib". The after game replay is back + looks good although its a generic version this time, not sportscenter.

I would say for most people rent before buy on this one. I am fairly happy with my purchase as I can have all the old Lions ~ Barry Sanders, Herman Moore, Chris Spielman, and Eddie Murry, etc on my team again :)

There is also a real-time sports ticker with (real life) scores and news from MLB,NFL, NBA, etc.. That is VERY cool.

Can someone verify that Lions code for me... Its alot of typing, I know :(

I keep getting "Invalid Uniform Code" on PS3. Not sure if these are platform specific or what.

I also got a weird bug this weekend.. I hit Herman Moore (WR) for a touchdown, but it got called back for illegal man down field on Herman Moore (WR).. He was in standard formation on the LOS, not in motion, not on the line etc.. Cheating computer cant handle my skilllz.. I was having Tecmo Bowl flashbacks :)

OK!!!!
NO more tecmobowl flashbacks until...
a) you are actually playing NES era TB/STB
b) we see what the new Tecmobowl will actually be like...
