I would appreciate any advise regarding my new AMD PHENOM II X2 555 BLACK EDITION CPU, connected onto a GIGABYTE 880GMA-UD2H mother board with the hope to "unlock" the cpu's hidden cores. I have used the motherboards' bios "Auto unlock enable" command, but in vain. After the self initiated restart, i can "see" the cpu becoming a PHENOM II X4 55BE on the the start up screen (all 4 cores activated), but the os(windows 7 64 bit home premium greek) fails to load and all i get is a blue screen. Ram is 2 X KINGSTON KHX1333C9D3B1/2G 2GB HYPERX DDR3 BLU, dual channel. Excuse my english, i haven't written a single word for a long time. Thankx and happy new year everybody!!

Sounds like one or both of the cores that are normally disabled are not functioning. Try disabling one, and then the other. It may turn out neither of them work. In my experience, one will normally work ok, but I have not seen any where both work.

Could be so but, on start up screen, the pc identifies the cpu as phenom II x4. Doesn' tthat mean all for cores are fine?

No, it just means it finds four cores, no test is performed to find out if they function. Weather the cores run or not is a whole other deal.
