http://www.****** is offering the best deal I have seen in a long time you can get unlimited calling for $199.99 a year and they give you a ton of VOIP hardware. If you are looking for a good phone deal voicestick is the best out on the market.

I sincerely doubt that your deal is the "best" deal you have seen in a "long" time.

In fact, there are many other threads on this board talking about sunrocket and viatalk's $199 for two years. In addition, Packet8 and many others have run $199 for one year plus 6 free months.

In addition, we've seen past posts regarding the service you're suggesting, and the general concensus was not that it was all that great a deal.

Yeah, I've been w/ packet8 for 4yrs now, 3 of which were on the yearly plan. Roughly 16 bucks a month for unlimited voip. Plus, the only real 'downtime' I've had has been due to ISP issues.

yea other VOIP guys have the same deal for $199.99 a year but does it come with all this hardware? I mean at the end of the year if other providers prices go down you can take that hardware with you. With these guys the hardware is not locked down or anything, well except for the voicestick but the adapter and headset you can use with anything. That is the reason I think this is such a great deal.

Stay FAR FAR away from ViaTalk. Their only thing worse than their service is their customer service and tech support.

IMO the SunRocket $199 for 2 years deal is the best. Your hardware is free and there's no strings attached on their deal. Service can be canceled at any time with a full refund on the remaining balance. ViaTalk only refunds 1/2 after 30 days and Vonage charges $40 to disconnect before your contract is up.

What's all this hardware you are talking about? Vonage sent me a free router, and I pay $215.88/year for my service, $15.88 less is hardly the reason to go change.

And again, what is this hardware? Like anyone needs it, give me my VOIP router and I'm done.. :)

well If you don't want the hardware then off course this is not a good deal for you. I am just saying for someone that wants to buy a year of service and get some hardware and not have to pay for activations or any of those bs fees then this is a good deal. It is like that saying "one mans junk is another mans treasures", one mans deal could be another mans junk. It just depends on what you need.

Vonage is expensive compared to other VOIP providers plus they charge $40 to disconnect early. I had Vonage before but ditched them because they didn't pass CallerID name in outbound calls. My calls to family/friends often came up as Unavailable or Unknown and were either blocked by spam preventers or ignored. Do they pass outbound CallerID name yet?
