After installing a HIS HD 3850, I installed the drivers and everything works fine, but I now have an "unknown PCI device" that I can not seem to get drivers for. I think it may have to do with the UVD chip, or the HDMI sound, but I really don't know. Does enyone know what the extra device is, so I can get drivers for it?

... which may not really be possible since it's Microsoft's not AMD's.

I got the exact same problem. I downloaded and installed the HDMI audio drivers wich stopped my windows spamming me with unkown PCI device.

But now my sound is gone. I have no clue what to do anymore. If I can't get this fixed on time I will have bring back this gfx card. Wich would be a shame since I love the perfomance of this 169 euro's budget card. (over 11k in 3dmark06 = priceless)

What can I do to solve this problem? Is there any way to completely turn off the integrated audio thing that is included with the graphics card?

If I would review this card... I would spark out 4 points just for the fact the drivers are a complete mess.

Pull: if you're running Vista, you need to make sure your sound output device is set correctly. I had a similar issue when I installed Bluetooth headphones.

Installing the drivers automatically makes the HDMI audio the default audio. Just go into your audio settings and change it back to your soundcard, or integrated audio. It is annoying, but it is pretty easy to fix.

Yeah it would be a shame that you took back an awesome card because you failed at basic operating system configuration.

Ok problem solved.
I did unistall rather then to disable the HD integrated audio device. When I did unistall it would just appear again by the next reboot. Disable works fine however.
Thanks the replies.

Yeah, why figure out how stuff works? Not worth the bother, just disable it. Your first attempt to PullTheTrick, and your first fail.

Don't want to bring this back from the dead but after getting a HD 4850 yesterday I had the same "PCI Device" problem and this thread had the answer I was loking for.

Thanks!
