I recently bought a new SATA 80 GB and installed Windows XP on it. Used a Bootable CD partioned and formatted using the XP CD itself and made a 10GB primary and 3 others logical partitions. After completing the XP installatio, I can find only 3.57 Gb as the primary on which the OS is installed and an "Unknown partition" of 6.2 GB in the Disk Manager. I tried deleting the partition using Disk Manager and also formatting/deleting using Partition Magic. No success. How do I merge that partition in the Primary C drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Amit

When you install Windows XP you just need to create and format the primary boot partition. You can create and format the rest of the drive once you get XP installed using Disk Management. If you can re-install again, boot with Windows XP CD and delete all partitions on the drive (if you can). Create 1 partition for the OS and format it as NTFS.
Install XP. After XP is installed go into Disk Management and create the rest of the partitions.
