Ok, this has been bugging me for some time now and I need to fix it now. I have a web server set up running W2KAS and I am having some kind of connection problem. I have a web site on my server and it won't work externally, but it some times works on my internal (192.168.0.1) network. I have two network cards installed, on for my internal connection and one for my external connection. It appears that the internal connection will not receive packets unless a browser is opened (shouldn't it be receiving ping packets constantly?). I tried disabling and then enabling the card, but then the connection doesn't work at all until I reboot the server. I have also tried setting up the Web for my site in IIS over and over again, setting up the DNS over and over again, tried different IP addresses, mess with RRA and even reformat the server but to no avail. I've looked at the cards, put them in different slots and even bought new cards to replace a possibly faulty card, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have ANY helpful suggestions as to why my server is being so stubborn? Could it be an interfering service or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
