If you are running XP make sure you have SP2. ACPI stands for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface.

I dunno. Maybe USB 2.0 or X2. Be sure to install the X2 driver and SP2(as mentioned above).

Click on details and scroll through the list to see if you can find any text.

Get the device ID and manufacturer ID.

generally that is a result of not installing the motherboard chipset drivers. some feature, generally a USB, networking, or RAID controller does not have a driver installed for it. i bet if you start trying to disable things you aren't using in the BIOS (like a SATA, RAID, or Networking controller) eventually you'll find the one that it is because that Unknown Device will disappear once you disable whatever it really is in the BIOS.

I have the same exact thing.
I reinstalled Windows one day (same CD, same hardware, didn't upgrade anything) and it just popped up out of nowhere. Never figured out what it was.

ACPI Away Mode Device (AWY0001).

Must be some new power feature on the board, or something like it.

This seems to work for "Bad Axe" boards but you are using AMD so I have no idea: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts...wnldid=9738&agr=n&lang=eng&prdmap=2223

Did you install the chipset drivers? http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf5_win2k_9.16.html
What about AMD Dual-Core Optimizer? Dual Core Processor Driver? http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Tec...lResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Maybe it's the AMD Live! patch driver (like Intel Viiv above?) driver. Select m2n-sli and go to utilities. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

(Direct link to AMD Live! patch)

Edit: Yes, it is "AMD Live!": http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/viewtopi...3&sid=b6e34861afe2edac9cfdb1ab38caa4e6
