Unknown HDD activity

Recently, my computer has been engaging in ferocious hard drive activity completely non-stop starting after I leave the computer idle for only a mere 20-30 seconds. As soon as I move the mouse it stops. What could be doing this? The only thing I can possibly think of is last week I enabled indexing in Windows search, so maybe it's doing that while it's idle? But it's been doing this for days, I'm sure it would be done with that by now.

I can't even check what's going on since it stops when I move the mouse. Any ideas?

You could try monitoring your CPU usage with:

ClearInfo 0.50 Final

See what is eating the CPU.

I'll give that a shot, but I think an HDD activity monitor would be better. Any suggestions?

Yes it is indexing this happened to me, and it drove me NUTS!!!!

Disable it.

It doesn?t improve the search functionality that much IMO.

Start >control panel > Add/Remove (windows components) > and Untick and uninstall that badboy ASAP!!!!

Nice find. I would download it, but my raptor is soo damn LOUD i can hear it a mile away even if i open a small Word file.
