Unknown device in device manager...

I have an unknown device in my device manager. It has a code 28. I've let windows try to find a driver on the mobo installation cd but it doesn't.

Any ideas?

Have you tried the AIBooster application? I had a similar problem on my A8N-SLI a while ago and fixed it by installing their AI Booster software.

Yup, I have all the utilities on the cd including ai booster installed.

I wonder if there is a tool that can identify the unknown device.

look at the properties tab. it will have some code like \afkalacpi\flkasjdlf394832

that will give you a hint.

In device manager under system devices, do you have one called ATKxxxx something or other? That is some ASUS specific device that I first saw when I got my A8N-SLI Premium. The driver for it is in the ASUS Probe installation package. Check to see if you have that installed already, if not, there you go.
