Unknown CPUID

i just installed a new p3-667 into my computer, and when i boot it up i get a message "Unknown CPUID or missing Micro-Code"
then my computer hangs up after DMI pool Update

what could be the problem, why would i recieve Unknown CPUID message, since when i first boot up my computer it seems to recognize the chip since it tells me that Processor is P3-667.

what could be the problem?

You appear to have a stepping that your BIOS does not support, either a cB0 or cC0 stepping. cB0 and cC0 are CPUID stepping masks.

Update your BIOS to the latest version available, and the problem should go away. Although your motherboard can recognise the speed of the processor, it does not recognise the stepping.
