I have a few avi files that I cant hear audio out of. I tried media player, and real player. Neither work. Anybody know anywhere I can download the codecs? Thanks.

I generally keep mine up to date. I checked aniways, and still the same result. I beleive the audio's been encoded differently or not encoded at all. How can I check the audio format? I am new to this, so any suggestions would help. Thanks.

I dunno if it is possible on your system, but I can rightclick on my avi files then select "properties" and then "summary" (rightmost tab)

there it shows both audio and video information ... it is important that your avi has an .avi extension and not a .divX extension or so ...

I found that the best way to check wich codecs are needed are Virtualdub and Realplayer.
Just dowload the latest VirtualDub and open the file, the properties window will show you all you need.
