Tearing with this card

Pros: See other thoughts...

Cons: See other thoughts...

Other Thoughts:
The new nvidia drivers have an issue with screen tearing with dual core processors, it's a known issue and nvidia is supposed to be working on a solution. A current workaround is to turn on 4x AA on the games that tear on you, roll back to the 83.xx series drivers, and overlock the card 5 mhz on each option.

Is this really a way to fix screen tearing? I personally think the guy doesn't know what vsync is.

Also, it seems like there are a lot of unknowledgeable people who leave reviews in the review sections of Newegg. I mean, sometimes they even try to make them into forums or something when its just a product review.

Sorry if this is kind of a worthless post, but I just saw that and had to write about it. I just can't believe that some people actually struggle that much with a simple problem.

I.E. : My new card is too fast; it breaks the 60FPS barrier and makes my display look garbled. I have to turn up the image quality to fix it. I vote 3/5 - Nvidia sucks.

I see your point. :)

lol. Exactly. Some of the wrong people are rating the Newegg hardware in their reviews.

In fact I sometimes find it somewhat entertaining...we all have to begin somewhere sometime as a noob.

unfortunately noobs always vote either 5/5 or 1/5 on a product, making the average review rating rather unbalanced. CNET is full of these people. I once saw a guy give a Toshiba Gigabeat a 2/10 because he couldn't figure out how to work it in 10 minutes...

I wish someone knowledgeable would monitor those newegg reviews more closely because some people are real morons who submit them. It sucks trying to weed out the stupid asses from the intelligent reviews.

I wish I could meet these people and give tham a big kick in the ass.

And it's a product review, not a newegg review, leave the NEWEGG ROX!! ****** out of your review.

My promedia's were awesome for like the first week i had them. Then I got on to use them and i heard a lot of wierd noise outta of the speakers. Then my sub began to make a farting like noise. Ends up my sub is blown. i hope newegg does a speedy job of getting me new ones because I will miss my speakers, they were that good until my sub blew out.

It's funny how the positive reviews always get good ratings (the "x/y people found this review helpful" thing), even if they're useless one liners, while the negative reviews always get bad ratings no matter how detailed or well written they are. :p And of course, just about everyone's technical understanding is high.

Is that "technique" even a legitemate way to fix screen tearing? I mean, who in their right mind is buying that kind of a card without knowing some of the features it gives? Vsync is a pretty well known attribute for graphics, and one would hope that if they are putting out even $300 for a card they would surely know what it can do. Then, after making a whole "review" complaining about the card tearing, he goes and leaves a 5/5 rating on it???????? From the sounds of it, he was really trying to somehow manually sync his monitor and graphics card, but I just can't stop laughing at the stupidity.

And then there are those misc. items that really don't need reviews, like connecters/extensions for wiring, or BGA copper ramsinks (uh, yeah...its copper and it can stick on things--what else is there to say?)

Maybe I'm just cranky or something, but I also get irritated with how some people just join the forums and expect us to do all of their shopping for them. Granted, their a little smarter for doing so since you have a greater chance to hear better prices, but damn, research a little...shop around...there are other sites than Newegg and if you do get something from there don't make a worthless "review" that doesn't help another buyer.
