What facts? You claim studies have proven something? Do I just take your word for it? Can you just say studies have proven something and that makes it true? I was just doing the same...I mean there have been studies.

So you deny the fact that condoms have a higher breakage rate when used for anal sex?

Do you also deny the fact that anal sex is the leading cause of transmission of HIV?

Or that an estimated 47% of HIV cases in the US are the result of male on male anal intercourse?

Or that 63% of heterosexual HIV cases were male to female transmission.

All this comes from the CDC...

Insane, lots of studies have shown that anal sex is more receptive to contracting the AIDs virus than Vaginal. I'll try to find one tommorrow when I have time.

I'm actually not disputing that...

What I'm saying is that anyone on the receiving end of anal sex will be equally at risk...man or woman...hetero or gay.

If you had 10 women who participated in anal sex, and 10 men who did...they would be equally at risk.

Also, I'm not going to just take his word for studies. If he wants to post about studies proving something, post the studies....

Anyone can just make a post saying studies prove something witout offering anything to back it up.

:)

I'm not denying anything. Personally, it doesn't make sense to me, and I wonder how a study to prove that would be done, but until I see some of these studies you keep mentioning, am I just supposed to take your word for it?

Do you also deny the fact that anal sex is the leading cause of transmission of HIV?

Again, I haven't denied anything. Stop trying to put words in my mouth. Show me some of these studies you keep mentioning.

Or that an estimated 47% of HIV cases in the US are the result of male on male anal intercourse?

I'm starting to see a pattern here. An estimated 47%? Again...do I just take your word for it? An estimated 79% of statistics are not accurate...trust me.

Or that 63% of heterosexual HIV cases were male to female transmission.

See above...

All this comes from the CDC...

So far, it's just coming from you. Links?

CDC Stats on HIV

The estimated number of diagnoses of AIDS through 2002 in the United States is 886,575. Adult and adolescent AIDS cases total 877,275 with 718,002 cases in males and 159,271 cases in females. Through the same time period, 9,300 AIDS cases were estimated in children under age 13.

Thanks for the link. As I stated before, I'm not arguing that anal sex is not the most common transmission method. Let me repeat...

What I'm saying is that anyone on the receiving end of anal sex will be equally at risk...man or woman...hetero or gay.

If you had 10 women who participated in anal sex, and 10 men who did...they would be equally at risk.

Now, what about this condoms breaking more during anal sex?

:)

Most hetero couples do not partake in anal sex.

Look at the numbers of infected homo vs hetero. Then compare the amount of homo vs hetero people their are.

Last I checked, anyone that participated in anal sex was barred from donating blood if they disclosed the information. Maybe not for ever, but for the forseeable future.

Condom Breakage

If you are concerned about the strength of your condom, a Consumer Reports study found that actual condom breakage is rare: 1 in 165 during vaginal sex and 1 in 105 during anal sex.

Actual failure rates are significantly higher due to user error. Also the real problem is the % of people who actually use protection.

They actually refuse blood from people that have lived in certain African countries for any amount of time since 1977.

There are similar restrictions on people who visited or lived in Europe. But thats because of mad cow.

I think you might be surprised....

It depends on where we are talking about. I can dig up numbers about any country/area. In regards to the US, I am correct when I say most hetero couples do not partake in anal sex. Now Africa? There is a high rate of anal sex because of uneducated africans trying to avoid HIV/Aids. As for Europe, its higher than the US, some countries higher than others.

Sure, you can always "dig up numbers" somewhere, but I always wonder about the accuracy of some of these studies when they are dealing in something people might not be honest and open about. I mean, if you took a survery and you and your gf/wife enjoyed anal sex, you might not want to tell someone that.

All those CDC numbers are estimated too...

*shrug*

I don't think we disagree as much as we think....thanks for finally providing links. I'm sure you can understand that anyone can just claim studies show something, but until they can be seen and verified, it's really just taking that person's word. Not that I don't trust you...;)

I go on what Ive read in the past, I usually also put IIRC or correct me if Im wrong. Its a pain in the ass tracking down studies online. Its much easier tracking down studies in bound volumes.
