I *think* I have an offer from a top uni in England (I'm from the UK), but I don't know if I really want to go there.
I would still have to get top grades, which I doubt I can do (I have one weak subject which would screw me over), so even if I accepted an offer, I might not get in anyway.
There are 2 other options I know I have, and one more I'm waiting to hear from, but my Dad is saying that he expects me to accept the top offer and stick something else down as a reserve, and I'm not sure I want to go to the top uni, because of grades and the fact that I won't be able to have a year of study abroad.

How do you deal with parents who have expectations of you and try and force you to go where you might not want to? I'm sure people have been in this kind of situation before with schools/colleges etc.

Glad you told us you're in the UK...or else I might have mistaken England for England, Alabama.

Remind your dad that getting a degree from a top university isnt all its cracked up to be. Employers look at the whole picture. Infact, they favour real world experience such as jobs, interests, characteristics about yourself etc.

Edit: Like most people in this country, your dad wants to show off to his friends. Fine by me, as I'll be the one taking advantage of these people later in life Muhahahahahahahaha... ahem :)
