Staples has Zenith universal remote 508162 (although it says styles may vary by store) for $10 less $10 rebate (in the form of a Visa prepaid card) 10/12-10/18, In-store. Rebate Offer Number: 08-42561.

Thanks. Any way you can find a link? I couldn't find the remote on their website.

Thanks.

You'll have to look at their ad online. Page 2.

I'm not finding it. For instance here: Staples online ad, searching on Zenith Remote

Edit: I found it. Online, look near the top right to see their ad (newspaper, I think). Then in Browse by Category, click on Electronics (56 items). It's the first item, top left. Price is listed as Free, until Oct. 18.

They had these every couple of months last year and I bought them almost every time. Decent remote but not too durable. All but my last two died when the next sale came up, the last two have been going strong 6-10 months now.

I saw no info on it at all, no model numbers, no features, nothing. Is it programmable?

Got mine and looks like the $10 rebate is progressing well. Guy at the store gave me a tip: Apply for the rebate online and you get it a lot faster (3-4 weeks instead of 6-8). Also no forms to fill out and mail in.

The remote isn't programmable. You pick and try out 4 digit codes. Some of my devices have like 16 codes! It's a crapshoot which codes that appear to work work the best. Some of my devices are going to be best controlled by their own codes. My TV even has a couple of functions that aren't accessible with this remote. However, it's still going to be quite useful. For one thing, that TV's remote's buttons don't work at all, a lot of them anymore.

What's the deal with Staples now doing the Visa pre-paid card for rebates instead of a check that you can cash. It sucks! I want cash!

prepaid visas basically are cash as far as I'm concerned. I use cash one a blue moon these days.
