universal power adaptors?

I lost the power adaptor for my BEFW11S4. I want to get a universal power adaptor for my router but it doesn't say anywhere on the router if it's positive or negative. Does anyone know? They guy at radioshack said it'll fry it if it's reversed but I think i've reversed them before and the worst that happened was it didn't work.

uh

1) take the power specs from the sticker on the bottom of the router
2) go to radio shack and ignore the idiots
3) find a power adapter that exactcly matches
4) buy it, take it home, plug it in
5) ...
6) profit!

Try it both ways, only one will work.

all the router says is 5v DC 2.5A. Doesn't say the polarity.

Call the router manufacturer and find out.
