Universal National Service Act of 2003

Two bills declare that it is the obligation of
U.S. citizens to perform a two-year period of
national service. Agree? Disagree? The Universal
National Service Act of 2003 (S. 89, H.R. 163)
argues that it is the obligation of every U.S.
citizen, and every other person residing in the
United States, between the ages of 18 and 26 to
perform a two-year period of national service,
unless exempted, either as a member of an active
or reserve component of the armed forces or in a
civilian capacity that promotes national defense.

To head off the probable moron chanting of "Fvck Bush for doing this", please indicate in your OP that both of those bills were authored and sponsored by Democrats. Thank you.

Amendment accepted.

To simplify things:

*This is old news
*These bills were introduced by DEMOCRATS
*President Bush has nothing to do with this nor does any of his administration
*People keep blaming this on Bush and his warmongering agenda
*It is now evident what the true agenda of the DUMBOCRATS who introduced these bills are
*It is also evident how stupid and gullible the average populace is

I swear to God, the next one of these draft threads needs to see the OP crucified, pilloried, tarred and feathered, and stickied for all to see, taunt, humiliate, abuse, etc.

PSA: There is not going to be a F&*$#%G DRAFT!!!!!!

fvck.

However, on the off chance that there is, I will eat my shoe.

Pussy. If you are called upon to do your duty for your country, do it.

Also, if you are not American, then ignore this.

I wasn't aware that you were required to earn your freedom.
That is the sad thing about this country today....the younger people think they are entitled to everything without work or sacrifice. Thank God our forefathers and all the other brave souls who have fought to preserve what most take for granted had values and principles.

Everything?
I think you should be entitled to your freedom in a free country without the prequisite of military service.

Military service is not required for citizenship. It exists for times when the nation is threatened and needs lots of soldiers in a short time frame.

Blah, blah, blah...
I know how I got my freedom, and it wasn't from the draft.
I've already served my time in the military, can you say the same?
