Anyone running UD, I've have systems running it in the Background since 2001. With just over 510,000 points I had forgotten about it, I recently noticed that it was still running on one of our machines and decided to launch a thread for it on my P4. In 2 months I've gotten to 540,000 points. Post your stats and lngevity, we may restir interest.

Yup.....

I have been running UD since 2001 as well :)

Still waiting for grid to load up new cancer work units. They have us doing redundant crunching in the meantime. They loaded up new Rosetta work units last week.

We don't have a lot of activity on the board. (anymore) :(
CyGoR used to keep an updated stats page and post here in DC.

here's a link to TeAm stats : Statsman
and from grid.org : TeAm Annandtech

Right now TA is in 16th place and we've been closing in on Ars Technica, but we have lost a little steam.
Any boxes you want to throw into the mix will be a welcome addition! :)
[edit] spelling

I'm still waiting for 80 new hard drives. Until then, the machines are on break. :(

Wow!
What happened? Got a bad batch, or just upgrading?

I've been a member with UD for a while now. I lived in NY my whole life but decided to move out to AZ and so I sold most of my computer simply because they wouldn't fit in my car.

however, I did manage to install hte software on many computers that I built for people so I'm up to 732k.

What happened to the stats page of every member and their progression? I haven't logged in to anandtech and checked on this for a while so if someone could just give me a heads up.

Wow....NY to AZ is quite a change of scenery!
A couple of years ago I went to see the Grand Canyon and it was 115F in Flagstaff!

Anyway, CyGoR was having problems with his scripts for retrieving our stats and I guess lost interest. He is still crunching though.
Matter of fact, it looks like he will pass you this week IB! ;)

xbassman, I'm not sure I could join a team after I've run that long or does it work if you are on no teams that you could sign on with your points. I could'nt do anything tonight, the server went into update. I'll check tomorrow.

You can join a team any time you like....
Points that you acrue after joining a team are all that go toward the team totals.
I have about 200,000 points on my personal stats that haven't gone to Annandtech, since I wasn't on the TeAm when I started crunching UD.

Been crunching UD since '01 as well, SETI since '98.

Production on my main machine has been low this week trying to figure out what was wrong with the watercooling. Turns out I've got a crack in the fill tube/level indicator on the Kingwin Arctic and with temps outside in the 90's I wasn't taking any chances.

If I'm reading the stats page correctly, I'm No. 1 cruncher for the week! W00t :D
I've never been #1 for any group I've crunched for, SETI or UD.

Well I am reading them same as you. :)
That's a lot of points! Good stuff!

Sorry to hear you sprung a leak though!
Nothing damaged I hope.
With the work units we are crunching right now, I've seen my points production jump around quite a bit. I have a couple of slow boxes that only complete one every few days.

No, nothing damaged. With the Kingwin, the main radiator/water reservoir/control unit fits into a 5.25" bay. I noticed the crack on while refilling. Specifically when water starting coming out of the bottom of the unit:shocked:. After a quick run to the kitchen for some paper towels and the adrenaline rush settled down I realized nothing had gotten soaked. Luckily i had pulled the unit a few inches out of the case to make refilling easier. The unit still operates, but I can't "topoff" the water level, or put it more than midway for that matter. The wife and I are hopefully moving soon so I'm waiting to see what I'm going to replace it with.

That's the kind of drama that has kept me from ever switching to liquid cooling.
Running UD I have had 1 processor that was reaching 72C!

Wow, with those kind of temps I'd half expect the socket to start getting soft. But I've caused the topic to wander from it's origins.

I personally think UD is an excellent endeavor worthy of anyone's spare cpu cycles. Not only do you get to work on a cure for Cancer, which I would be surprised hasn't affected almost everyone (if not everyone) who might read this topic, but you can choose to work on other projects they might pick up. Right now it's Human Proteone Folding, another worthy project.

So if you're looking for a project to do some good, GO UD!!!!!! and lets find a cure.

I really wish I could get a Bulk Installer from UD...

Apparently they must not think 200+ machines are enough...

I noticed imediatley the difference in time to complete. Right now my personal box is doing 2 a day. It used to complete 4-5 a day.

Hopefully when they finish loading the new data on the grid, WU's will be a more manageable size.
