Either:

a) running on a really slow computer
b) running on a really fast computer, but running something else that's making the WU take a long time

Ouch, down to #6...

It's your computer's score times the length of time the UD agent is running... *not* the amount of cpu time.

When running Seti for instance, the CPU time is devided 50% for both projects. But, UD is rewarding the CPU time, not the time a WU finishes in..
I've got a (very) slow machine crunching right now, (gets a score of 62 points :)) running both Seti and UD.. UD is now at 85% with a cpu time of 192hrs! :D
Even while it's a slow system, it does it's work very nicely.. Although I personally think it's a form of 'cheating' because you can install UD at all times,
and then run Seti at 100%. So you can get a normal Seti production AND a normal UD production while UD doesn't do anything! But when running 50/50 I think
it's more their problem, I'm cruching a wu which takes (strangly enough) more then double the usual time but it's a wu!

Last year, my main rig had a sort of crash while I was away for 2 weeks, explorer used 100% cpu power the whole time! When I came back, UD was still running
though, so when I killed explorer it resumed normal cruching.. I received almost 6000 points for only that single WU... I can't say that the grid people did a good
job at designing this point system..

That's lame. I think they should be rewarding based on WU's done, or some such thing that would actually reward production. Oh well, it's for a good cause.

Yes it is lame indeed...
Another thing, I use my system a lot, yesterday it just finished a wu when I was unzipping a 1800Mb file while copying another big file over my LAN.. Instead of the usual ~150+ points I only got like 96 points for my system.. Maybe I should write a program (if possible) to warn me when the WU is almost done, then I can drop my work and let it finish...
