Ohh and forgot to let you guys know. I'm trying to get a 1.5 ghz P4 assembled that I just acquired yesterday. Should add quite a bit to my stats.
Also have to reinstall win2k on a p3 500 to get that setup.

Actually, snowdogg, the next passing that's going to happen is the TiVo users passing us... unless you've got 100k points per day up your sleeve

I might see if I can get vmware + 98 on my tivo machine... only problem is that it's only got 256 MB ram.

Dude! You talkin' 'bout a TIVO or an HTPC?

I might be able to squeeze out a few more points though...
Just got my HTPC back online after updating its cooling a bit. Dropped about 5C on the processor. 9I could get it lower, but I don't want a hairdryer in my living room!) Had to replace a couple of power supplies also. The old ones weren't handling overclocks very well. Been kinda slow getting it done though...injured my knee. Surgury Friday Doc says it's no big deal though.

Yeah, it's definitely a HTPC. I call it a TiVo anyway It's a linux box (I'm compiling Gentoo on it right now), which is going to be running MythTV. I had a 'spare' 2700+ proc that I stuck in there to make it faster (up from a duron 800), so I might as well not waste the processing time! It was my Seti box before I removed Mandrake to put on Gentoo.

The problem is that I put the HTPC box into the SFF case that I bought... So I've got the vantec aeroflow cranked all the way up to keep the proc at 60C. It looks pretty though!

Whoa! I was worried about 54C!

Here's the case I put mine in: AOpen H400A

I barely fit an Antec True430 in. (3/4" between the PS and DVD-R)
Right now it is running 49-50C running UD. I'll probably OC it a bit more if the voltages stabilize a little better.

There was barely enough room to cut an 80mm suck-hole at the side/front of the case, so now it has 1 Panaflo L1A intake and 2 60mm L1A-EB's for exhaust. I also have a SilentBoost on it, but I changed the fan for an H1A.

Do you like Myth? Right now I am just using the WinTV scheduler that came with my Hauppauge PVR-250. Then I set my Sat. box to auto tune.

This thing is really a SFF case. It has its own proprietary 200W power supply. It barely squeezes in behind the dvd-rom (I have to unplug the ide and power cables from the drive until the power supply is screwed in, then put the cables back). There is very little air space around the processor, which is why the thing runs so hot.

This is the box I bought (the black one).

There's actually not even enough room to fit another chassis fan in there. There is one already that acts like one of those PCI blowers, and it pushes a fair amount of air, but not enough to keep that proc cool. The Vantec Aeroflow is about the best HSF I can fit in there.

The 2700+ is a hot running chip, too. I'm getting the same temps with it at stock than I was with the 2500+ mobile at 2333 MHz.

I really like MythTV. The only downside to it is the system it uses to record (a hacked version of .nuv) that makes it impossible to play back in other media players without patches or transcoding it first. I record to 700 kbit mpeg4 to conserve space (I could only spare 50 gigs for the recording partition).

I am surprised that the 200W PS will run your system...
I tried to use the 200W that came with my case, and pushing a 2500+ @ stock settings the 5v rail was only managing 4.5v. I lobbed it into the trash.

It's underrated... it's running 512 meg of ram, 2 hard drives, a dvd-rw, and a radeon 9700!
