Got the idea from Zorro in another post.

From now until 9/11 Everyone change their Avatar to the U.S. Flag

BY 9/11 EVERY AVATAR SHOULD BE THE U.S. FLAG. I WANT TO SEE EVERYONE WITH THE U.S. FLAG, AT LEAST FOR THAT DAY.

CHANGE YOUR AVATAR AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT. AFTER THIS POST I'M CHANGING MINE TO THE U.S. FLAG RIGHT NOW. No 'shroom for a few days, just good old U.S. Flag!

PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD GOING SO WE ALL CAN SEE IT AND REMEMBER THE TRAGEDY. if nothing else, at least we can show our support by having the American Flag as our avatar.

Wouldn't it be nice if on 9/11 we come here and see nothing but American flags!?

SO DO IT!!!

i've had the flag icon since it first came out. i get really worked up inside every time i see 9/11 footage, and this is a small little way to keep me in check.

No, that would be queer. I'll pass, but in doing so, I'll bump.

How will that be queer to have all flags on ONE day? Too much to ask?

Can't force you, but then why even post on here if you aren't going to do it then don't. But why post?

I just thought it would be a nice gesture, since 3,000 Americans lost their lives and all but if you don't aren't game, thats your choice i guess.

. . . or does the ribbon count?

I think the ribbon is a nice show of support as well.

This is the ATOT equivalent of putting an American flag on your car. I don't need to change my sh1t to tell everyone "hey, I'm patriotic too!"
Patriotism is in the heart, it's not a fad.

i think it would be more meaningful if we had an hour of silence. i.e., refraining to post anything (since there's no way that all us big mouths can go a whole day)

Sh*t. I'm disappointed with some of the responses.

If you don't want to change you'r f'n avatar THEN DONT'.

But don't fckin wine here about why you aren't going to do it. Keep it to your f'n self.

is it so difficult a thing to do anyway? Did anyone suggest you are any less patriotic if you don't?

No one here suggested that. It was just a request. Nothing more.

I won't, because I don't need to. And we are not whining.. we just don't like it when somebody comes in who seems like they are fresh out of an AOL chat room and starts YELLING at us to change our avatar. We don't need this thread to "Remember the Tragedy" either, unless you would otherwise so easily forget, in which case it wouldn't matter if you changed your avatar or not, it would only be bandwagon patriotism. I think you could show your support in a lot better ways, like not posting here and maybe going out and volunteering in your community, at least for a day. THAT is patriotism, not changing an avatar. Good day.

I'm not going to get in a debate with you over this. Its not like you can't change your Avatar for a day and volunteer at the same day. If you think by changing your avatar you are becoming patriotic, or if you think that I think that, you are dead wrong buddy.

I do think, however, think that most of us will be posting here on that day anyway, regardless, and so it would be nice to see that everyone here is thinking on the same lines. Why do I think its important? Not as a test of one's patriotism, I'm not putting anyone on the line with that. More so, as a show of unity, so that when non-Americans come here (it would be great if they did it too btw), and I know a lot do, they would see that we [Americans] stand together, albeit in a small way.
