here's my problem...

I wanted to get rid of a game from my comp cause it was taking up too much space so instead of unistalling it I trashed all the related files...now I want to reinstall that same game and the installation kills because the program registries are still in the computer as a result of the improper unistall the first time. I don't know what to do I was thinking maybe I could get beyond it by destroying the file that was installed into the comp will my first setup was taking place but I don't know where that file may be....help!:frown:

Open "My Computer"
Open "Control Panel"
Open "Add/Remove Programs"
Select program, and "Uninstall"

First back up your registry. Then use regedit( Start-->run-->regedit). Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Open the Software folder. In it, find the folder containing the files for your game, probably listed under the name of the company that produced it. Delete that folder. Do similarly for HKEY_CURRENT_USER-->Software-->appropriate folder. Save. See if that is sufficient to let you install.
