Unique problem?

Ok well, this morning I go to turn on my pc and it says missing Bootmgr...sure this is a common problem but the thing is, i put in my windows vista ultimate cd in to repair the startup. Though vista cannot find my vista hard drive, as it shows that vista isn't even installed on my computer! I have no clue what I should do from here, I have another computer, so I can hook up my hard drive to there and maybe edit the boot file? I really don't have experience in that part but I need my vista back and I really really don't want to reformat since I have so much programs that I honestly don't feel like reinstalling. : )

thanks ahead

When you turn on your computer, go into the motherboard's BIOS menus and check to see if it detects your hard drive or not.
