Just curious if it's okay to have a UPS very close to my computer? I have heard some people say that it's not a good idea having it close, but I've also heard the opposite..

Thanks

Well batteries sometimes blow up and they also sometime give off fumes. However, if you have a UPS with sealed Batteries it is probably pretty safe.

I'd imagine that exploding batteries aren't exactly common. :)

My UPS sits about 5 inches from my PC, and there don't seem to be any problems.

As long as it's not too close to inhibit ventilation (of either the computer or the UPS), it's probably ok.
