I have installed XP as an update to Windows 98. What is the proceedure for uninstalling XP? Someone told me to go into add/remove programs and activate the uninstall XP. However, I am uncertain as to whether this actually initiates the uninstall procedure or removes the potential to unistall. Appreciate any help.

Thanks for your response bacillus. My inclination is that it will work as well, but I'm really looking for a definitive response before I possibly remove the ability to uninstall.

Thats so true. The only way I'll do an upgrade is if the OS I'm upgrading from is a 100% fresh clean install. Other than that I'll do full install any day.

I used to do that too but when you have had an OS installation for a couple of months and its loaded with customizations and updates which you don't want to loose, an OS update is the only option. Because of this, for the first time ever, I tried a 2000->XP update and it seems okay except for a problem with font corruption - I guess I'll end up having to format and reinstall in the end to fix it :(
